Finasteride and Minoxidil solution is a combination of 2 drugs that are formulated into a topical solution for the treatment of hair loss and restoration. Several over the counter products currently exist and consists of Minoxidil at a concentration of  2% to 5% . Some patients may benefit from a  personalized compounded preparation determined by their physician, which includes Finasteride.
The most popular prescribed compound that we prepare is Finasteride 0.25% + Minoxidil 10%. This formulation is modifiable based on patient response and tolerability.

The combination of the 2 drugs maximizes the success increasing hair growth and reversing hair loss. Most patients see results after three months of once to twice daily use. To see an optimal outcome, the treatment should be used for at least 1 year. You must be patient and committed even after you start to see results. Persistence is key.

The preparation is has been formulated to allow patients the ease of application. Because it comes with a metered dropper, some users find that it’s easier to apply to specific areas of the scalp. This may be helpful if the you have longer hair and need to apply the medication only to specific areas. The dropper allows precision. The solution has been prefered by many woman.

  • Finasteride prevents hair loss by blocking an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. This enzyme crates a hormone called DHT, which causes hair loss. By blocking this enzyme, Finasteride prevents this process from occurring and stops active hair loss in its tracks.

  • Minoxidil is a vasodilator, meaning, a medication that helps improve blood flow. It’s known that this helps hair growth by allowing more oxygen, blood, and nutrients to reach hair follicles through more relaxed blood vessels, so your hair gets a max dose of all the good stuff.

Safety and precautions

  • Men treated with finasteride should refrain from blood donation while taking finasteride. The purpose of this is to prevent administration of finasteride to a pregnant female transfusion recipient.

  • Sometimes people report increased hair shedding the first few weeks or so after starting treatment .This hair loss is temporary, not permanent.

  • Breasfeeding while taking this product is not recommended because of the potential for serious adverse effects.

  • You should not use this product if you are pregnant.

  • Finasteride is not indicated for use in adolescents, children, or infants.

  • Finasteride is not FDA-approved for use in females of childbearing potential and is recommended to be avoided during breastfeeding. It is not known whether finasteride is excreted in human milk. Therefore, the effects of finasteride on breastfeeding or a nursing infant cannot be determined.



Storage

Store this medication at room temperature and away from heat, moisture, and light. Throw away any unused medicine after the beyond use date. Keep all medicine out of the reach of children.
